PROPOSED MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT
CITY OF JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY

The project site is located at 244 St. Pauls Avenue (A.k.a. 3060 Kennedy Boulevard) in the City of Jersey City, New Jersey. The proposed development included the construction of a six-story mixed-use commercial and residential building.

JZN Engineering provided geotechnical investigation and engineering services to evaluate the subsurface soils conditions, groundwater depth, and the existing neighboring foundations in order to provided recommendations for the design of the proposed building foundations and related earthwork. JZN provided recommendations for a shallow foundation system.

In addition, JZN designed a waterproofing plan for the footings, foundation walls, and underslab. Additional services included pre-construction conditions surveys of the neighboring buildings, construction quality control, inspection during the installation of the backfill, subgrade inspection for footings bearing on bedrock, and vibration monitoring of neighboring buildings.

PROPOSED MIXED-USE BUILDING BOROUGH OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

The project site is located at 661 Driggs Avenue in the Borough of Brooklyn, City & State of New York. The proposed development included the construction of a five-story mixed use building.

JZN Engineering provided geotechnical investigation and engineering services to evaluate the subsurface soils conditions, groundwater depth, and the existing neighboring foundations in order to provided recommendations for the design of the proposed building foundations, support of excavation (SOE) and underpinning, and related earthwork. JZN provided recommendations for a variety of foundation systems which included a shallow foundation system.

In addition, JZN provided support of excavation (SOE) design services which featured the utilization of a braced micropile and lagging system. The bracing system consisted of walers and rakers with heel blocks and walers with tie-backs. Additional services included pre and post-construction conditions surveys of the neighboring buildings, construction quality control and special inspection during the installation of the SOE system and proposed building foundations, and vibration monitoring of neighboring buildings.
