The project is a 27,000 square foot, variable one to two-story, self storage building with a cellar. The property is bordered by businesses and residential buildings.
JZN Engineering provided contractor support for the analysis and design of the Support of Excavation (SOE) system. JZN also provided construction phase quality control for the installation of shoring which included the drilling of rock sockets, lagging placement, rock excavation, and other activities.

The project is located at 1956 Atlantic Avenue in the Borough of Brooklyn, New York City, New York. The project site is bordered by Atlantic Avenue to the north, and commercial and residential buildings to the east, south and west.
JZN provided a support of excavation (SOE) design for a maximum 33 feet excavation in support of the construction of the Safeguard Self Storage facility. An braced underpinning design was provided in support of the existing three-story with basement building located adjacent to the eastern side of the property. A braced steel soldier pile and lagging system was used in the remaining sides of the site. The SOE bracing system consisted of kickers with heel blocks.

The project is located at 607 Saw Mill River Road in Elmsford Town, Westchester County, New York. The property is bounded by a parking lot to the north, Old Saw Mill Road to the west, a gas station to the south and Saw Mill River Road to the east.
The self storage facility consists of a three-story building with an approximate footprint area of 18,500 square feet. Additionally, the proposed development will include the construction of an underground storm water management system, new paved parking lots and utilities.
JZN provided a geotechnical investigation consisting of drilled soil boring explorations to obtain information on subsurface soil and groundwater conditions at the site. JZN conducted in-situ percolation tests during the investigation in order to estimate the subsurface soils permeability rates for the stormwater management system.

The project is located at 2601 Veterans Road West in the Borough of Staten Island, New York. The property is bounded by Arthur Kill Road to the northwest, a residential home and Zebra Place to the northeast, Veterans Road West to the southeast, and a parking lot to the southwest.
The proposed development would include the demolition of an existing commercial building and the construction of a four-story self storage facility with a footprint area of approximately 35,000 square feet, paved parking lots, utilities, and a stormwater management system.
JZN provided a geotechnical study consisting of drilled soil boring explorations to obtain information on subsurface soil and groundwater conditions at the site. JZN conducted in-situ percolation tests during the investigation in order to estimate the subsurface soils permeability rates for the stormwater management system.
JZN provided geotechnical criteria for use in preparation for the design of a deep foundation system and provided recommendations for earthwork and construction. Some of the recommended deep foundation systems included timber piles and geopiers.

The project is located at 629 3rd Avenue in the Borough of Staten Brooklyn, New York. The property is bounded by a four-story residential building to the northeast, a residential home to the southeast, 18th Street to the southwest, and 3rd Avenue to the northwest.
The proposed development would include the demolition of an existing gas station and the construction of a self storage facility with one-story bellow ground cellar.
JZN revised the redesigned temporary shoring system plans. As such, engineering analysis and design calculations were conducted for the new proposed structure.

The project is located at 318 McLean Boulevard in the City of Paterson, New Jersey. The property is bordered by East 42nd Street to the west, 20th Avenue to the north, McLean Boulevard to the east, and rail road tracks to the south.
The proposed development includes the demolition of the existing structures and the construction of two commercial buildings. The first building will occupy a footprint area of 31,000 square feet and will serve as a three-story self storage facility with a cellar level. The second building consist of a 21,000 square feet, one-story retail building. The development will also include new paved parking lots and driveways, new utilities and landscape areas.
JZN Engineering provided geotechnical investigation services to evaluate the feasibility of developing the property. The investigation included soil boring explorations to investigate the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions at the site. JZN provided recommendations for the design of shallow foundations, earthwork management, and subgrade preparation.

The proposed development includes the conversion of an existing commercial one-story building into a three-story self-storage facility and the construction of new paved parking lot, driveways, utilities, and a stormwater management system.
JZN Engineering provided stormwater management investigation services. The investigation consisted of soil profile pit excavations to study the soil permeability rates in support of the proposed stormwater management system.

The property is bordered by Forth Hamilton Parkway to the north, commercial developments to the east and west, and residential homes to the south. The proposed development consist of a construction of a self-storage facility building with one below grade cellar level.

The proposed development includes the construction of a self-storage facility building with two below grade cellar levels (a cellar and a sub-cellar).
JZN provided a support of excavation (SOE) design for a maximum 20 feet excavation for the development to allow for the construction of the proposed below grade levels, foundation system and slab on grade. The SOE system consisted of a braced steel soldier pile and lagging system to be installed around the property. The SOE bracing system consisted of kickers with heel blocks.
