The site is located at 164 West 74th Street, Borough of Manhattan, City & State of New York. The project site is bounded by 74th Street to the north, residential buildings followed by Amsterdam Avenue to the west, residential buildings followed by West 73rd Street to the south, and residential buildings followed by Columbia Avenue to the east.

The development included the partial demolition of the southern portion of the existing building and replacement with an eight story residential building. In addition, the project included lowering down the existing building slab by approximately four feet.

JZN conducted a geotechnical investigation consisting of soil exploration borings and test pits to estimate the engineering characteristics of the subsurface soils and evaluate the conditions of the existing foundations. Recommendations for the proposed building foundation included the implementation of a conventional shallow foundation system.

JZN Engineering provided waterproofing system design in support of the proposed building alteration. The waterproofing design included a detailed construction procedure for the assembly of the proposed system and visual work inspection recommendations to follow during the construction of the waterproofing system.

PROPOSED SAG HARBOR CINEMA ARTS CENTER RENOVATIONS SAG HARBOR, NEW YORK

The site is located at 90 Main Street in Sag Harbor, New York. The project site is bounded by Main Street to the east, commercial buildings to the north and south, and Meadow Street to the west.

The proposed building renovation will include the construction of a new slab above the water table depth. JZN Engineering was retained to provide a water proofing design of the proposed slab in order to prevent water from infiltrating above the new slab.

Our waterproofing design included materials specifications and recommendations for the waterproofing construction in support of the new slab, new columns, existing foundation walls, and penetrations of utilities. In addition, JZN Engineering provided waterproofing construction procedures and visual work inspection recommendations to be followed during the waterproofing installation process.

The site is located at 11 Avenue C in the Borough of Manhattan, City & State of New York. The project site is bounded by East Houston Street to the south, a five story residential building to the west, East 2nd Street to the north, and Avenue C to the east.

The development included the demolition of an existing gasoline services stations, removal of underground gasoline storage tanks, and a single story mechanics shop followed by the construction of a ten story mixed-use building with a full cellar slab.

JZN Engineering provided review services of the plans, construction specifications and construction procedures of the proposed waterproofing system designed by others.

HARLEM 125
HARLEM, BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN, NEW YORK

The site is located at 69 East 125th Street in Harlem, Borough of Manhattan, City & State of New York. The project site is bounded by East 126th Street to the north, East 125th Street to the south, a four (4) four-story mixed-use buildings to the east and two to four-story mixed-use buildings to the west of the property.

The development included the construction of an approximately 10,000 square foot mixed-use building. The development consisted of six stories to the north and 12 stories to the south. The cellar level includes underground parking and the first level includes commercial space.

JZN Engineering provided special inspection and documentation of the proposed waterproofing system during installation procedures. The special inspection was performed to ensure the waterproofing system designed by others was installed per plans and specifications.

THE HARLOW CITY OF HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY

The project site is located at 1316-1330 Willow Avenue at the intersection of 14th Street in the City of Hoboken, Hudson County, New Jersey. The proposed development included the construction of an approximately 11,000 square foot, eight-story building with four below-ground parking levels.

JZN Engineering provided the review of the proposed waterproofing system consisting of a secant pile wall, and the review of its proposed construction sequence. In addition, JZN provided a core beam tip modification design of the secant pile wall in order to ease the construction process and ensure the beam was installed into the proposed rock socket of the wall system.

JZN Engineering provided special inspection of the proposed waterproofing system to ensure the secant pile wall was build per plans and specifications. In addition, JZN Engineering documented and evaluated the secant pile deflection during the construction process.
